Enhanced Wood Framed Homes
The Artisan approach to wood framing is unique in many ways.
- First, Artisan uses all glu-lam beams, engineered joists and rafters, mostly engineered studs, plates and headers, 1 ΒΌ" thick plywood flooring and uses all plywood sheeting for roof and walls.
- Second, Artisan installs a layer of 2" polyiso ridged insulation over the entire exterior wall surface. This approach doubles the insulation value over most new homes and reduces sound transmission from exterior sources.
- Third, Artisan builds its framed homes with an insulated crawl space. This system balances the under floor humidity and keeps the floors warmer in the winter. Additionally, it significantly reduces heating costs.
